St Patrick’s Day is perhaps the most famous national day in March but there are several others. For example Greece celebrates its Independence Day on March 25th. This commemorates the Greek War of Independence waged between 1821 and 1832 against the Ottoman Empire, in which independence lost at the fall of Constantinople in 1453 was regained.
