The Moroccan flag was first adopted on Nov 17, 1915 and reinstated in 1956 at independence. The design comprises a green interlaced pentangle centered within a red field. Morocco lies in North Africa and has an extensive Atlantic coast, many mountainous areas and regions that are Sahara Desert. The outline of the map is elongated and irregular and combines with the bold colors of the flag to create unique and distinctive designs for Moroccan national mementos.
