New Zealand: Flag and Map T-Shirts & Other Gifts

The New Zealand flag was designed in 1869 and became the national flag in 1902. It is the familiar Blue Ensign with the addition of four red stars with white borders representing the Southern Cross. The flag is similar in design to the flag of Australia. New Zealand is an island nation situated in the southwest Pacific. New Zealnd traces its nationhood from the Treaty of Waitangi signed on 6 February 1840. The map of New Zealand has a highly recognizable outline, which combines well with the New Zealand flag to create distinctive and attractive designs for national mementos.
