Falkland Is.: Flag and Map T-Shirts & Other Gifts

The Falkland Islands lie in the South Atlantic and have been continuously settled only since the early 19th century. Today the population is a little over 3,000, predominantly English speaking, inhabitants. Both Britain and Argentina lay claim to the islands with the former currently exercising control. This dispute over sovereignty led to the Falklands War in 1982, the conclusion of which is celebrated as Liberation Day on Jun 14. Other important dates in the Falklands include: New Year's Day (Jan 1), Easter (varies) and Christmas Day (Dec 25).
