The flag of Serbia was first adopted in June 2004. The design incorporates the Serbian coat of arms placed slightly off-center toward the hoist over three horizontal bands colored, from top to bottom, red, blue and white. Serbia is a landlocked nation in southeast Europe. Several mountain ranges come together in the south of the country in contrast to fertile plains in the north. The outline of the map is compact and upright and in combination with the primary hues of the flag creates elegant and distinctive designs for Serbian national mementos.
