The flag of Czechia was adopted on Mar 30, 1920 (at that time as the flag of Czechoslovakia). It comprises a blue triangle at the hoist atop two horizontal bands, the upper white and the lower red. Czechia is a landlocked nation in central Europe. It has a varied landscape with mountains surrounding a large river basin in the west and hilly terrain in the east. The map outline is compact and somewhat kite shaped and combines well with the primary colors of the flag to create elegant and distinctive designs for Czech national mementos.
